Elden Ring Requirements Are Massive
Print Friendly, PDF & Email

After Elden Ring briefly appeared on Steam this week, the Twitter page now reveals the complete system requirements for FromSoftware’s latest brutal endeavor.

Ted Litchfield suggested that Steam’s minimum specs might have been accidentally listed, but that does not seem to be true. To run the game you will need at least 12GB RAM and either an AMD Radeon RX580 or Nvidia GTX1060. You will need 16GB RAM to run the game at its recommended specs.

This is a far cry from the specifications we are used to seeing in FromSoftware’s games, especially when you consider that the game will also be available on Xbox One and PS4. It will be interesting to see how the game runs on our machines. We’ll also be able to determine if FromSoftware is a bit too strict with the specs or if Elden Ring is really that much of a bitch.

The high specs required to run the game could be a natural consequence of Miyazaki’s team feeling the pressure to upscale their game. All of this is because of how gorgeous the Demon’s Souls remake was. And how successful it was too. We covered this story way back when.
