So if you get Iridescent I (the best rank) for both Survivors and Killers alike. You could get 2,000,000 bloodpoints as reward. This is quite the tall order. As you must climb from Ash IV to Iri I in exactly 1 month, as both Killer and Survivor. Before the rank resets back to Ash IV on 13th day each month. Expect to put in a lot of hours! But the bloodpoint reward is HUGE.
Note: Remember that your grade DOSEN’T represent your current “rank” used for matchmaking! Grades are only “cosmetic”. The Matchmaking Rating (MMR) actually affects what rank teammates and opponents you get! MMR is hidden, so you cannot check or measure it. You can increase your MMR only by escaping the trial as Survivor, or via getting kills as the Killer. If you fail to secure any kills, or fail to escape, your MMR drops. But, at the same time, you can easily get pips for your grades, and then either give yourself to the Killer, or let all the Survivors go.
How To Rank Up Your Grade In Dead By Daylight
Grade is determined by how many “pips” you earned in the current “season” or “month” of play. Pips can be earned, lost, or stay at the same level depending on your match performance. Custom matches, and matches against bots naturally don’t count towards that progression.
Wether you get pips or not is measured at the end of each game. Survivors can get pips for repairing the generators; healing and rescuing others off hooks; successfully escaping from the Killer; and last and hardest to score is simply escaping the trial.
Killers earn pips for: wounding Survivors and then preventing them from healing; hooking Survivors; chasing Survivors; and preventing the generators from being repaired too quickly.
To get to Iridescent I as easily as humanly possible I suggest you do your best in each match. As Survivor do as much as you can. Sit on generators all the time when currently not being chased by the Killer. As soon as someone is hooked try to rescue him for huge boost to Altruism. Open the escape doors, clear totems around the map. Blind the Killer with flashlights. And when you make sure that the rest of your team escaped, always die, even if you can win! This will maximize your grade, but your MMR will drop. Because only escapes raise MMR. This means you will get pips, but you will play against increasingly worse Killers, making “farming” grades easier.
As Killer do the same. Chase Survivors, hit them, down them as quickly as you can, patrol generators to pressure them. But never actually kill any of them, and let them escape. Just remember that each Survivor has to be hooked 3 times before he is dead for good. Hook them twice, then never hook them again. Repeat this process to keep earing pips, while tanking your MMR for much easier farming.
